Is that a Vet or a lab rat?

I guess it hasn’t dawned on someone to seek permission first.

Reports say VA researchers took blood samples without patients’ OK
Researchers at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Philadelphia took blood samples from veterans for use in an anticoagulation study without the knowledge or consent of the patients, reports based on several internal reviews said. The anticoagulation study and another study on prostate cancer involving the same unnamed researcher were stopped as a result of the investigation. VA officials did not answer inquiries regarding the reports.  Pittsburgh Tribune-Review (9/16)

Oh well, at least they didn’t tell a bunch of Vets that they had a deadly disease when they didn’t.  Oh – well…

Dog critically burned, ACS asks for public’s help with care

This is maddeningly sick but if you’ve got a buck or two extra, you could throw it at this poor dog.  RRR – too mad for decent comments.

Churchill is currently stable, but the veterinary staff treating him say it could take months and thousands of dollars to get him healthy enough to be adopted. (ACS)

SAN ANTONIO — Animal Care Services is asking for the public’s help with their efforts to save an Old English Bulldog it says was set on fire by a local teenager.

ACS officials are calling it a “horrific case of animal cruelty” and said it occurred this week at a home on the South Side.
